SOME PAINTINGS ARE MORE SPECIAL THAN OTHERS

I will tell you the origin story of my painting "Escape".

The war in Ukraine had just started and various organizations were running charity projects and events to raise funds.

Minu Unistuste Päev made a post on its Facebook homepage, the picture of which was a sad little girl who was dragging a big teddy bear with her. My husband saw the picture and said I should paint it. Because this image really spoke to me, it wasn't long before I had a canvas in front of me and a brush in my hand.

When the painting was finished, I decided to donate it to the Minu Unistuste Päev organization because it seemed the only right decision. They were just running the Maalides Head charity project, where various Estonian singers and artists had donated their paintings to an auction, and the proceeds from the auction were donated to the welfare of Ukrainian children.

I contacted Minu Unistuste Päev on Facebook messenger and soon I received a reply from Ave Pilt, the communication manager of Minu Unistuste Päev. Ave was very sweet and thanked me in advance for such a gift. The next morning, I took the painting to the Ülemiste center, where there was an event to introduce the project. I gave the painting to Ave and later kept an eye on the auction. By the end of the auction, the project had collected a total of €4,404. My painting "Escape" raised 804€which made my heart especially warm and I was very happy that I made this painting and decided to donate to this organization. #Letsdogoodtogether
